The Degree of Allahs Consciousness

Allah says in the Qur'an:

Has not the time arrived for the Believers that their hearts in all humility should engage in the remembrance of Allah and of the Truth which has been revealed (to them), and that they should not become like those to whom was given Revelation aforetime, but long ages passed over them and their hearts grew hard? For many among them are rebellious transgressors." (57:16)

And so amongst men and crawling creatures and cattle, are they of various colours. Those truly fear Allah, among His Servants who have knowledge: for Allah is Exalted in Might, Oft-Forgiving." (35:28)

The Degrees of Fear

  1. Fear of Allahs Punishment: The believers always fear Allahs punishment. This is a natural fear that can be aroused in oneself.

    Allah says in the Qur'an:

But those who disobey Allah and His Messenger and transgress His limits will be admitted to a Fire to abide therein: and they shall have a humiliating punishment." (4:14)

  2. Fear of Allahs Scheme: Allah says in the Qur'an:

"Did they then fell secure against the plan of Allah? but no one can feel secure from the plan of Allah, except those (doomed) to ruin!"(7:99)

  3. Fear of a Bad Ending: There are many stories and counts of people who lived good lives but did something at the very end of their life which caused all of their good deeds to be wiped out. An in the inverse scenario, people who were evildoers their whole lives did a people good deed which cleared them of sin before they died.

Narrated Abdullah: Allah's Apostle, the true and truly inspired said, "(as regards your creation), every one of you is collected in the womb of his mother for the first forty days, and then he becomes a clot for an other forty days, and then a piece of flesh for an other forty days. Then Allah sends an angel to write four words: He writes his deeds, time of his death, means of his livelihood, and whether he will be wretched or blessed (in religion). Then the soul is breathed into his body. So a man may do deeds characteristic of the people of the (Hell) Fire, so much so that there is only the distance of a cubit between him and it, and then what has been written (by the angel) surpasses, and so he starts doing deeds characteristic of the people of Paradise and enters Paradise. Similarly, a person may do deeds characteristic of the people of Paradise, so much so that there is only the distance of a cubit between him and it, and then what has been written (by the angel) surpasses, and he starts doing deeds of tthe people of the (Hell) Fire and enters the (Hell) Fire."  (Bukhari)

  4. We should always pray to Allah to cause us to die and muslims and die in the state of righteousness.

"Fear is that which prevents you from disobeying Allah."(Sa'ed Ibn Jubayr)
