Concerning the Eminence of Islam

It is narrated on the authority of 'Abdullah b. 'Amr that a man asked the Messenger of Allaah (may peace and blessings be upon him) which of the merits (is superior) in Islam. He (the Prophet) remarked: That you provide food and extend greetings to one whom you know or do not know. (Muslim, 63)

Lessons to Learn from this Hadith

  1. Providing Food: We need to feed the poor.
  2. Greeting: Saying Assalamualikum to all the Muslims whom we know and we do not know.
  1. I have lived in Dubai, India and Toronto.

But it is only here in Toronto I have seen muslims greeting muslims whom they do not know wherever they see them in shopping malls, parks, etc, etc.

In Dubai too, we used to greet muslims whom we do not know but if we are in a muslim gathering like in a masjid, islamic lecture, etc. Maybe the scenario is differnt now.

And really, it feels very nice to greet all the muslims we do not know too. I think we all should really start telling Salam to all the muslims we meet even if we do not know them.
We get rewarded all the time by saying it, insha Allah.
