Concerning the Sincerity and Good-will

It is narrated on the authority of Tamim ad-Dari that the Prophet of Allaah (may peace and blessings be upon him) observed: Al-Din is a name of sincerity and well wishing. Upon this we said: For whom? He replied: For Allaah, His Book, His Messenger and for the leaders and the general Muslims. (Muslim)

Lessons to learn from this hadith

Sincerity to Allah

  1. To believe in Allah.
  2. Not to associate any partners with Allah.
  3. To describe Allah with all His attributes.
    a.    Allah's Power, Glory and Might.
    b.    Attributes of Mercy, Compassion.
  4. To affirm Allah is free from all kinds of imperfection.
  5. To obey Allah.
  6. To avoid sins.
  7. To love those who love Allah.
  8. Acknowledge the favors and thank Allah for all His bounties.
  9. Agonise those who agonise Allah.
  10. Inviting people to all these qualities.

Sincerity to Allah's Book (Qur'an)

  1. We need to believe Qur'an is the speech of Allah.
  2. It cannot be copied/imitated.
  3. It cannot be compared to any human speech.
  4. Our heart should be sensitive to the Holy Book.
  5. Attesting to the truth of the stories of the Qur'an.
  6. Pondering over the Qur'an.
  7. Lessons from the admonition from the Qur'an.
  8. Carry out the firm orders of the Qur'an.
  9. Calling humankind to the message of the Qur'an.

Sincerity to Prophet Mohammed (saw)

  1. We affirm the truthfulness of Prophet (saw).
  2. We need to believe everything He (saw) told us, about heaven, hell, etc.
  3. Pray as the way He (saw) taught us to pray.
  4. We need to obey Him (saw) in whatever He (saw) asked us to do and in the best way we can.
  5. Whatever He (saw) has forbidden, we should avoid such things.
  6. We must support the cause of spreading the message of Islam in the way we can.
  7. We need to pay His (saw) due by sending blessings upon Him and be reviving the sunnah and by spreading the message.
  8. We should cherish love for the family of Prophet (saw).
  9. We should distance our self from those people who innovate matters into our religion.

Sincerity to Muslim Leaders

  1. To pray behind them.
  2. We should rise in revolt against them.
  3. If they commit a mistake, we should try to correct them.
  4. Wishing well for all the Muslims.
