Belief in Allah is the best of Deeds

Abu Huraira reported: The Messenger of Allaah was asked about the best of deeds. He observed: Belief in Allaah. He (the inquirer) said: What next? He (the Prophet) replied: Jihad (struggle to the utmost) in the cause of Allaah. He (the inquirer) again said: What next? He (the Prophet) replied: Pilgrimage accepted into the grace of the Lord. (Muslim)

Lessons to Learn from this Hadith:

  1. Iman is which is rooted in the heart and is expressed through actions.
  2. Iman is the action.
  3. Iman is the basis of all deeds.
  4. We will be questioned upon our actions.
  5. Jihad does not only mean the Holy War. Jihad means struggle for the sake of Allah.
E.g. Struggling with our desires, fighting with satan, fighting with bad thoughts, etc.
