Abu Huraira reported: The Messenger of Allaah was asked about the best of deeds. He observed: Belief in Allaah. He (the inquirer) said: What next? He (the Prophet) replied: Jihad (struggle to the utmost) in the cause of Allaah. He (the inquirer) again said: What next? He (the Prophet) replied: Pilgrimage accepted into the grace of the Lord. (Muslim)
Lessons to Learn from this Hadith:
- Iman is which is rooted in the heart and is expressed through actions.
- Iman is the action.
- Iman is the basis of all deeds.
- We will be questioned upon our actions.
- Jihad does not only mean the Holy War. Jihad means struggle for the sake of Allah.
E.g. Struggling with our desires, fighting with satan, fighting with bad thoughts, etc.
