Invoking Blessings upon the Messenger

Narrated by Ali ibn AbuTalib: Allah’s Messenger (peace be upon him) said: The niggardly is the one before whom I am mentioned and he does not invoke blessings upon me [Tirmidhi, 933].

  1. "Verily, Allah and His angels send prayers upon the Prophet. O you who believe! Send prayers upon him and peace!" (al-Ahzab 56)

  2. We really need to remind people when they mention the name of the prophet, peace be upon him, but forget to invoke blessings. One way of doing it without making them feel offended or hurt may be, by saying "Sal Allaahu alaihi wa salaam" aloud for them to hear, and so they would remember to say it as well.. inshaAllah
