Hosting a party at Home?

Have you ever invited guests to your home and worried at the last moment if the food you prepared would be sufficient for everyone? Have you had sleepless nights before the party or at times had dreams of the party and dishes you would prepare? It happens to everyone, doesn’t it!

We keep wondering if the quantity of food will suffice. But the next time you throw a party at home, remember what Allah’s Apostle (SAW) said: “The food for two persons is sufficient for three, and the food of three persons is sufficient for four persons.” (Bukhari)

  1. I recently held a big party at home for the first time, and Subhan Allah, i really could not sleep properly for few nights before the party. I would see dreams of the dishes I would prepare and used to really think if the food would be enough.

But Alhamdulillah, the food was enough for all and everyone ate well:)

  2. Share your experiences too:)

  3. yeah this happens sister Shayistha…at times the number of guests unexpectedly increases and that is the most terrifying moment for the host..wondering how s/he will manage the increased number of guests but SubhanAllah it all goes well rather superb 🙂
in our culture this happens alot but with Allah’s Blessings the unexpected and the expected guests both are served very well and the food amazingly never seems to be insufficient.

We often tend to think bad about the unexpected guests and ill thoughts comes in our minds but we don’t realize this point that guest is a Rahmat and not a burden and that guests has a right upon the host for at least 3 days if I am not wrong….WE really need to work on our attitudes and seek basic knowledge of how well to treat our fellow brothers and sister. JAzakiALLah khair Sister for sharing this and reminding us.

  4. yes sister, we need to treat our guests well for 3 days:)
