The Ninth Supplication: O Allah, Knower of the unseen and the evident , Maker of the heavens and the earth , Lord of everything and its Possessor , I bear witness that there is none worthy of worship but You .I seek refuge in You from the evil of my soul and from the evil of Satan and his helpers . (I seek refuge in You) from bringing evil upon my soul and from harming any Muslim

“(I seek refuge in You) from bringing evil upon my soul”

Shirk

The most devious evil, a human can bring upon himself is to commit shirk. It is the greatest form of injustice.

“It is those who believe and mix not their beliefs with wrong― that are (truly) in security, for they are on (right) guidance.” (6:82)

“O my son! Join not in worship (others) with Allah: for false worship is indeed the highest wrong-doing.” (31:13)

“(I seek refuge in You) from harming any Muslim”

A true muslim is he from whom Muslims are safe from the evils of his tongue and his hand, and a true Muhaajir is one who abandons what Allah has forbidden.” (Bukhari)

“…Be good to your neighbour and you will be a true believer, desire for others what you desire for yourself and you will be a true Muslim…” (Saheeh Al Jami. This hadith is Saheeh)

Narrated Abu Huraira: Allah’s Apostle said, “Whoever has wronged his brother, should ask for his pardon (before his death), as (in the Hereafter) there will be neither a Dinar nor a Dirham. (He should secure pardon in this life) before some of his good deeds are taken and paid to his brother, or, if he has done no good deeds, some of the bad deeds of his brother are taken to be loaded on him (in the Hereafter).” (Bukhari)
