Someone Invites for a Meal

Abu Huraira (Allaah be pleased with him) reported Allaah’s Prophet (sallAllaahu alayhi wa sallam) as saying: If any one of you is invited to a meal when he is fasting, he should say:” I am fasting.” (Muslim, 2562)

  1. sis i really like your GEMS..they are so touching and realistic and compels one to think over it again and again…jazakiAllah khair sis…yeah if the above attitude is adopted, stated above in the hadith then lot of problems will end before getting started because initially you told the other person that look bro im fasting and have no intention to fight so you didnt say anything but it was a BIGGGGG shut up for him if that person had any bad intention of starting a useless argument etc…:)…hopefully i didn’t write more than what was required…correct me if im wrong…:(

  2. Indeed abstinence from food is one of the core factors of Ramadan and for that matter, one should not even be seated looking at somebody eating, because you may get interested in the food.

  3. Could you please elaborate on this Hadith.

Abu Huraira (Allaah be pleased with him) reported Allaah’s Prophet (sallAllaahu alayhi wa sallam) as saying: If any one of you is invited to a meal when he is fasting, he should say:" I am fasting." (Muslim, 2562)
