The Beginning…

The following is a fulfilling journey to ISLAM.

Story of Brother Arup – Mohammed Ayan Chaudhuri. Brother Arup though born & brought up in a broadminded Hindu family always detested the evils of alcohol, gambling, interest & obscenity. To him these were atrocious social evils. He was always inquisitive about “IDOL” worship. Idols made by men out of clay, he always pondered – could they be asked for help? Can these idols made by mere humans be the creator? How can souls made of the same blood and flesh that he is made of, be termed “Godly”, he wondered.

Arup absolutely failed to believe that there could be so many gods in the so called “Different avatars” or “Forms”. Hence, from his young age he was actually leading an Islamic life even at a very subconscious level and that’s what he felt when he read the book” BRIEF ILLUSTRATION OF ISLAM" for the first time. This book a treasured gift from a Muslim friend, brought about drastic changes towards the positive in his life.He longed to learn more and more about “Islam” and about “The Holy Quran” and “Sunnah” .This ever thirsty want for knowledge about Islam magnetized him towards more and more books on Islam and it’s teachings and also join a “QURAN STUDY CIRCLE” conducted by the eminent, Dr.Taha Mateen. He was greatly influenced by his knowledge on Islam and his method of teaching. There he also met a lot of like minded people and other Muslim brother’s (revert brother’s) who shared their experiences with him and vise versa.

Meanwhile, he also had a detailed discussion with his father about his desire to embrace ISLAM…….His father replied – "Arup it’s your choice and you decide what you want to follow. My only advice to you as always is that whatever you do, do it whole heartedly and with total conviction.”

Arup would stand gazing at the stars for long hours, tears rolling down his eyes for the fear of Allah swt as he felt that he has wasted all these years of his life in disbelief. Alternately, he felt a great sense of joy from deep within his heart that, alas! He can live a life of a true Muslim for the number of years to come…..

The talk with his father and his firm belief in one-ness of Allah swt gave him the strength to accept “Shahadah” & embrace Islam in just a matter of 10th months, Mash’ Allah.

This was a new beginning. Brother Arup now also known as Mohammed Ayan Chaudhuri felt more positive, strong & a transformed person from inside out. He found it in ISLAM; a religion which did not command him to worship a figure of a MAN as "GOD" and that, to seek the will of god is man's most basic instinct. Brother Ayan is overwhelmed by the beauty & charm of the Arabic language, particularly the language of “THE HOLY QURAN” the word of “ALLAH” (SWT). He calls Arabic language the language of faith. At the time of reversion, although Ayan had accepted ISLAM as a true religion, he had no idea of the vast internal changes it brought along with it. He now feels it is a must and his responsibility towards UMMAH. He now preaches his fellow Muslim brother’s and sister’s to adhere to the values of ISLAM. He encourages Muslim sisters in close proximity or otherwise to wear a HIJAB and loves to carry his closest belongings at all times – his Islamic books, Mash’ Allah.

ALHAMDULILLAH unlike many other Muslims (reverts) he was already blessed by the almighty for he did not have to face any pressure from the people around. He believes this is also because of his own firm “IMAN” (faith) towards Islam. He thoroughly believes that life is a never-ending journey to acquire knowledge and understanding the greatness of “ALLAH” (SWT) & culminates only after death. The journey has just begun!!!!!!!!!!

Allah says in the Qur’an: "Whoever goes right, then he goes right only for the benefit of his own self and whoever goes astray then he goes astray, to his own loss. No one laden with burden’s can bear another’s burden and we never punish until we have sent messenger” (to give warning) (Al Isra 17:15)
