What if we do not pray?

  1. WE BECOME UNBELIEVERS: Born as a Muslim, belonging to a Muslim family, having a Muslim name does not make us a pure Muslim Believer. So if we give up praying regularly 5 times a day, we become unbelievers. Because the most distinguishing feature between a Muslim and a Non-Muslim is prayer.

Prophet Mohammed (SAW) said: “To give up prayer is infidelity (a person who has no religion.)” (Muslim)

So do we want to be called as unbelievers born as a Muslim?

  2. HELL IS OUR ABODE: We have been created in this world to worship Allah. And this world is only a trial and a test for us as to how we will make use of our life to attain Jannah. But if we do not fulfill the purpose of our creation, then our final and ultimate destination will be Hell fire. Do we really want Hell to be our Home?

    Allah says in the Qur'an:

"Then, there has succeeded them a posterity who have given Up prayer [i.e. made their (prayers) to be lost, either by not offering them or by not offering them perfectly or by not offering them in their proper fixed times] and have followed lusts. So they will be thrown in Hell.” (19:59)

"What has caused you to enter Hell?"  They will say: "We were not of those who used to offer the Salât (prayers)” (74:42-43)

We are not praying because we are not fearing Allah and the life after death. We are obeying Satan and making him very happy every time we do not pray. And do we think Satan will help us in the hereafter?

Quran says, this is what Satan has to tell us:

"And Shaitân (Satan) will say when the matter has been decided: "Verily, Allâh promised you a promise of truth. And I too promised you, but I betrayed you. I had no authority over you except that I called you, so you responded to me. So blame me not, but blame yourselves. I cannot help you, nor can you help me. I deny your former act in associating me (Satan) as a partner with Allâh (by obeying me in the life of the world). Verily, there is a painful torment for the Zâlimûn (polytheists and wrong-doers)." (14:22)

This ayat clearly tells us that Satan will not be able to help us at the end. Those who follow the footsteps of Satan will not be successful in the Hereafter.

  3. SATAN GAINS POWER OVER US: Since our soul is not nourished by spiritual food regularly, Satan tends to have gained power over us. He is able to make us dance to his tunes.

    Allah says in the Qur’an:

“Shaitân (Satan) has overpowered them. So he has made them forget the remembrance of Allâh. They are the party of Shaitân (Satan). Verily, it is the party of Shaitân (Satan) that will be the losers!” (58:19)

  4. DUA'AS WILL NOT BE ANSWERED: And finally, our dua'a will not be accepted. We sometimes feel that our dua'as not not answered. There are many reasons as to why our dua'as are not accepted:

    1. We do not pray  or we do not pray regularly.
    2. Maybe our earnings are not halal or we are not spending it on halal means.
    3. Maybe Allah wants to give us something better maybe in this world or in the Hereafter and that's why He is not answering our dua'as.

    Allah says in the Quran:

“And nothing prevents their contributions from being accepted from them except that they disbelieved in Allâh and in His Messenger (Muhammad SAW); and that they came not to As-Salât (the prayer) except in a lazy state; and that they offer not contributions but unwillingly.” (9:54)

  3. Assalam o alikum,

There are two situations in which a person refrains to pray.

One is the time when he/ she forgets the importance of Allah in our lives voluntarily and assumes praying as a waste of time and energy.

Second, is the situation when the person is too worried of the trial he/ she is undergoing, that he/ she just delays praying till the problem is solved.

But my dear friends, are the problems too not from Allah Himself?? Then instead of turning to Allah for help, why do we feel so confident in our worldly ways alone to solve the crisis given by Allah?

Verily, the problem is given by Allah but it is the handiwork of Satan itself, which makes us believe we can solve the problem ourselves WITHOUT seeking Allah’s help atall. Satan tells us that okay Allah is supreme and at His highest place, but lets solve this out THEN bow to Him. And through this slight change of influence, Satan takes us leaps far from our sustainer Lord[SWT].

So, brothers and sisters, beware, next time when you are faced with a trial, don’t forget to pray on right times.
It is a very very crucial thing.
