In Need of a Revitalizing Alarm?
The Importance of Awareness
Allah says in the Qur'an:
Say: "I do admonish you on one point: that ye do stand up before Allah–(it may be) in pairs, or (it may be) singly, and reflect (within yourselves): your Companion is not possessed: he is no less than a Warner to you in face of a terrible Penalty." (34:46)
- To awaken from our negligence.
- When we realize the blessings Allah bestowed upon us, then we would awaken and then realize how bad we are in our Ibadah.
The Punishment for Sin is lifted from a person by means of:
- Before Death: Repentance, disasters, calamities, etc effaces the sins.
- Repentance
- Actively seeking forgiveness.
- Good deeds that erase the bad deeds.
Allah says in the Qur'an:
"And establish regular prayers at the two ends of the day and at the approaches of the night: for those things that are good remove those that are evil: be that the word of remembrance to those who remember (their Lord)" (11:114) - Hardships/Calamities that we go through erase sins.
Prophet Mohammed (SAW) said: "No calamity befalls a Muslim but that Allah expiates some of his sins because of it, even though it were the prick he receives from a thorn." (Bukhari)
- After Death:
- Janazah Prayer
'A'isha reported Allaah's Prophet (sallAllaahu alayhi wa sallam) saying: "If a company of Muslims numbering one hundred pray over a dead person, all of them interceding for him, their intercession for him will be accepted." (Muslim) - Barzakh (the period after death till the day of resurrection)
Ibn Taymiyyah said: "Whatever befalls the believer in this world, in al-barzakh of pain which is a torment, Allah will cause to expiate for his sins."
The trials of the grace, the squeezing of the grace, etc will erase our sins. The Bitter Reality. - The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: "When a person dies, all his deeds come to an end except three: sadaqah jaariyah (ongoing charity, e.g. a waqf or endowment), beneficial knowledge (which he has left behind), or a righteous child who will pray for him." (Al-Tirmidhi)
The Prophet Mohammed (SAW) said: “ A man will be raised some degrees in paradise and he will say, ‘ for what reason I am receiving this?’ He will be told, ‘because of your son asking forgiveness for you.” (Bukhari) - Day of Resurrection: Day equivalent to 50,000 years
- Difficulty on the day of judgment.
- Pain – sun on the top of the head
- Allah's forgiveness.
- Intercession – Prophet (saw), Qur'an
- Cleansing in the Hell Fire: The sins are erased and purified after being thrown into the Hell-Fire.
