What to say when leaving the home
“بِسْمِ اللهِ، تَوَكَّلْتُ عَلَى اللهِ، وَلَا حَوْلَ وَلَا قُوَّةَ إِلَّا بِاللهِ”.
Bismillaahi, tawakkaltu ‘alallaahi, wa laa hawla wa laa quwwata ‘ illaa billaah.
In the Name of Allah, I have placed my trust in Allah, there is no might and no power except by Allah.
(Reference: Abu Dawud, At-Tirmithi)
“الَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِكَ أَنْ أَضِلَّ، أّوْ أُضَلَّ، أَوْ أَزِلَّ، أَوْ أُزَلَّ،
أَوْ أَظْلِمَ، أَوْ أُظْلَمَ، أَوْ أَجْهَلَ، أَوْ يُجْهَلَ عَلَيَّ” .
Allaahumma ‘innee ‘a’oothu bika ‘an ‘adhilla, ‘aw ‘udhalla, ‘aw ‘azilla, ‘aw ‘uzalla, ‘aw ‘adhlima, ‘aw ‘udhlama, ‘aw ‘ajhala ‘aw yujhala ‘alayya.
O Allah, I seek refuge in You lest I misguide others , or I am misguided by others , lest I cause others to err or I am caused to err , lest I abuse others or be abused, and lest I behave foolishly or meet with the foolishness of others.
(Reference: Abu Dawud, Sahih At-Tirmithi)

Insha Allah try to learn atleast one.
I even recite Ayatul Kursi before leaving. Any references??
Even while leaving the home, putting the left leg foot first..any reference?
subhanAllah…i really feel relaxed when i recite these duas before leaving the house because i feel i might not do any foolish thing but this dua gives me a sense satisfaction that i wont behave foolishly.:) lol but its true you gain a bit of confidence by putting your trust in Allah… and in another narration not remember which one but it said reciting last 3 surahs is also good…correct me if im wrong
@ Shayistha…while leaving home, one should start with the right foot forward as also practised and preached by Huzoor Mumhammad SAW.
According to one Hadith if a person recites Ayatul Qursi once, when leaving home, the Almighty has one group of Angels to come and protect you. If recited twice, 2 groups of Angels are assigned to do this. If recited 3 times Allah tells the Angels not to worry as the Almighty himself takes care of him. Subhan-Allah
JazakaAllahu Khairan for your comment sister Zohra:)
But is there any authentic reference for those? I too have read those, but i could not find any authentic hadiths supporting those. If you have the authentic hadith relating to that, please post it here.
Does anybody have the authentic hadiths relating to reciting ayatul kursi while leaving home?
