Invocations before eating
When anyone of you begins eating, say:
(i) Bismillaah.
With the Name of Allah.
(ii)And if you forget then, when you remember, say:
Bismillaahifee ‘awwalihi wa ‘aakhirihi.
With the Name of Allah, in the beginning and in the end.

Whomever Allah has given food, should say:
(i)Allaahumma baarik lanaafeehi wa ‘at’imnaa khayranminhu.
O Allah, bless us in it and provide us with better than it.
(ii)Whomever Allah has given milk to drink, should say :
Allaahumma baarik lanaa feehi wa zidnaa minhu.
O Allah , bless us in it and give us more of it.

we should recite the dua before starting to eat… and we can make this our habit by realizing that if we had not recited that dua then satan was with us while we were eating giving him more strength 🙁 to disturb us with his irritating whispers so recite the second dua if you forgot it at the start…let not give a chance to nourish satan by not reciting the first dua…mission achieved 🙂
