Remembering Allah in a Gathering
Narrated by Abu Hurayrah: The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: A gathering in which there is no mention of Allah, the Exalted and High, nor any invoking of blessings (salat) for their Prophet (peace be upon him) will be afflicted with remorse. If Allah wills He might punish them and if He wills He might forgive them [Tirmidhi, 836].
Gatherings are very common and the du’a for assembly in a gathering should be memorized by us inshaAllah..
The Remembrance said at a sitting or gathering:
Ibn ‘Umar said: It would be counted that the Messenger of Allaah (S) would say one hundred times at any one sitting before getting up:
‘O my Lord, forgive me and turn towards me (to accept my repentance). Verily You are The Oft-Returning, the Oft-Forgiving. Sahih At-Tirmidhi, 3/153]
