Al- Kursi
- Al Kursi means the footstool.
- It is not to be confused with Al Arsh (The Throne), which is infinitely higher and greater than Al-Kursi.
The Tafsir of Al Kursi- the four explanations
- It is a huge entity that covers the heavens and the earth.
- The meaning of Al Kuri is Allahs authority, power and kingdom.
- The meaning of Al Kursi is His Knowledge.
- It is not real, it just means to give an image about the greatness of Allah and His might.
Conclusion
- Imam Arzaazi, ash Shawkani, al Qurtubi and Ibn Katheer believes the first opinion is the right one.
- We are not allowed to leave the apparent meaning of a text without any proof.
A Great hadith about Al Kursi
Abu Dharr (RA) asked Allah’s Messenger about Al Kursi, so He (SAW) said: “By Him, in whose Hand is my soul, the seven heavens and the seven earths are but the size of a ring in a desert, compared to the kursi, and the difference between the Throne and the Kursi is like the difference between the desert and that ring.” (Declared as Sahih by Al Albani, Ibn Taymiyyah and Ibn Hajar)
