The Sixth Supplication: “O Allah, make me healthy in my body. O Allah, preserve for me my hearing. O Allah, preserve for me my sight. There is none worthy of worship but You. O Allah , I seek refuge in You from disbelief and poverty and I seek refuge in You from the punishment of the grave . There is none worthy of worship but You.”

Meaning and Beauty

“O Allah, preserve for me my hearing. O Allah, preserve for me my sight.”

The way of the Last Messenger

There are so many supplications in the sunnah, made by the Messenger of Allah (SAW) asking his Lord safety and security from calamities and illnesses.

Ears and eyes, aren’t they part of the body? Why are they singled out with dua’?

To show their importance. They are our means to communicate with the external world. If you do not hear and do not see, then you will be disconnected from the outside world. You will never be able to learn a languate or talk.

Hearing and Seeing are the most important among the five senses. They are our precious endowment, therefore they are granted more emphasis in our supplications.

“There is none worthy of worship but You”

Amplify your Dua with Tawheed

This is tawassul (seeking nearness to Allah) with tawheed (oneness of Allah).

It is the best type of Tawassul.

Tawassul means supplication Allah by means of intermediation.

Our Du’a is amplified with Tawassul.

What are the Legal Types of Tawassul?

• With Allah Names and Attributes: We are allowed to use the Names of Allah and Allahs attributes in our dua. E.g. We can use Allahs name “Ar Razaq” and pray to Allah to give us good provision.
• One’s present state:  If we want a good job, etc. We can make this dua:

  “My Lord, indeed I am, for whatever good You would send down to me, in need.” (Qasas:24)

• One’s good deeds: When we make du’a and ask for something, we can tell Allah the good deeds we have done for his sake and ask Allah to fulfill our dua for us because of  that. good deed. Example: The first hadith mentioned in:  Tools of a winner
• Du’a of a living person: We can ask others to pray for us. But this is not highly encouraged. Allah will listen to our du’as as He has promised us.
