What a Muslim should say when he is praised

Allaahumma laa tu’aakhithnee bimaa yaqooloona, waghfir lee maa laa ya’lamoona [waj’alnee khayram-mimmaa yadhunnoon].

O Allah , do not call me to account for what they say and forgive me for what they have no knowledge of [and make me better than they imagine].

(Reference: Al-Bukhari)

  1. subhanAllah…there are times when you are praised although you feel you don’t deserve too many praises and look how beautifully Islam guides us by reciting this dua and helps us not to feel proud and be as modest and humble as possible cause all praises are due to Allah…we should always thank ALLAH for blessing us with this pure religion of Islam. alhamdulillah…

  2. Nisha Fakrudeen says:

  5. Abu Dharr reported: It was said to Allaah’s Messenger (sallAllaahu alayhi wa sallam): What is your opinion about the person who has done good deeds and the people praise him? He said: It is glad tidings for a believer (which he has received in this mortal world). (Muslim, 6388)
