Allah descends every night to answer our Du’as

Imagine you had a flight to catch at 5 am. Would you relax till the last minute, or would you arrive at the airport two or three hours in advance? Would you take all the measures to make sure you wake up ‘on time’. Do we postpone our trip because of our laziness to get up?

Then why is so difficult for us to wake up at night for Qiyaam ul-layl (night prayer)? Why do we always postpone our night prayers to “some other day”?

Did you know that Allah (subhan Allah wata’ala) descends every night to the heaven to answer our Du’as?

When you pray when everyone is sleeping, you have gotten several steps closer to Allah SWT by having worshipped Him in secret. Allah SWT is pleased with you, answers your du’as, puts barakah into your actions, and places barakah in all your day-to-day dealings (school, work, household chores, etc), by causing you to be heartily content with the results, whether you win it or not. SubhanAllah!

Get yourself out of that cozy blanket; for verily – Allah knows our difficulties and rewards every iota of the efforts we make to get closer to Him. Insha Allah!

Narrated Abu Huraira: Allah’s Apostle said, “When it is the last third of the night, our Lord, the Blessed, the Superior, descends every night to the heaven of the world and says, ‘Is there anyone who invokes Me (demand anything from Me),that I may respond to his invocation; Is there anyone who asks Me for something that I may give (it to) him; Is there anyone who asks My forgiveness that I may forgive him?’ “ (Bukhari)

“Why is that we can stay awake at night to talk to others, but have so much difficulty staying awake to talk to Allah?” Sheikh Yasir Qadhi
