Seventh Supplication: “Allah is sufficient for me . There is none worthy of worship but Him . I have placed my trust in Him, He is Lord of the Majestic Throne.”

The Fruits of Tawakkul

  1. Allah will suffice him in whatever he is trying to achieve: Allah says, which means: “And whoever puts his trust in Allah, He will suffice him.” (Al Talaaq: 3)
  2. Allah will love him: Allah says, “And when you have decided, then rely upon Allah. Indeed, Allah loved those who rely (upon Him).” (Al Imran: 159)

What are the fruits/signs of Allah love for His servants?

    • People will love that person, and Allah will grant him acceptance on earth. Angels in the heavens will love him too.

Narrated Abu Huraira:The Prophet said, “If Allah loves a person, He calls Gabriel saying, ‘Allah loves so and-so; O Gabriel! Love him.’ Gabriel would love him and make an announcement amongst the inhabitants of the Heaven. ‘Allah loves so-and-so, therefore you should love him also,’ and so all the inhabitants of the Heaven would love him, and then he is granted the pleasure of the people on the earth.”  (Bukhari)

    • Allah becomes his special helper and protects his limbs and organs and does not let them work for His disobedience.

Abu Hurayrah RA said, “The Messenger of Allah SAW said, ‘Allah says, “Whosoever shows enmity to someone devoted to Me, I shall be at war with him. My servant draws not near to Me with anything more loved by Me than the religious duties I have enjoined upon him, and My servant continues to draw near to Me with supererogatory works so that I will love him. When I love him I am his hearing with which he hears, his seeing with which he sees, his hand with which he strikes and his foot with which he walks. Were he to ask [something] of Me, I would surely give it to him, and were he to ask Me for refuge, I would surely grant him it. I do not hesitate about anything as much as I hesitate about [seizing] the soul of My faithful servant: he hates death and I hate hurting him.” (Bukhari)

  3. The Person will proceed in doing beneficial things and not fear or dread anyone excecpt Allah.

And recite to them the news of Nûh (Noah). When he said to his people: “O my people, if my stay (with you), and my reminding (you) of the Ayât of Allâh is hard on you, then I put my trust in Allâh. So devise your plot, you and your partners, and let not your plot be in doubt for you. Then pass your sentence on me and give me no respite. ( Yonus: 71)

“All that we say is that some of our gods (false deities) have seized you with evil (madness).” He said: “I call Allâh to witness and bear you witness that I am free from that which you ascribe as partners in worship,— With Him (Allâh). So plot against me, all of you, and give me no respite. “I put my trust in Allâh, my Lord and your Lord! There is not a moving (living) creature but He has grasp of its forelock. Verily, my Lord is on the Straight Path (the truth). (Hud: 54-56)

  4. It encourages the believer to take action: To acquire knowledge or seek sustenance. With the permission of his Lord, a believer will be able to change his conditions.
